Jessica R. Treat
Marriage & Family Therapist, MA, LMFT #84022
I graduated from JFK University with a Master's Degree in Counseling Psychology and specialized in Family and Couples Therapy in 2010 and was licensed as a Marriage and Family Therapist in 2014. I'm honored and humbled to have worked with a variety of clients throughout the years.
I began my career in 2008 as a mentor for children with emotional disturbances from low income families and learned that I loved working with teens with challenges around depression, anxiety, and social skills. Later, I worked in a residential recovery home for women and their infants and toddlers as a parenting consultant and case worker, and learned that I loved working with parents and their families. As I moved into a traditional therapy setting in homes and offices, I delivered therapy services to victims of crime, adults working through anxiety and depression in preparation to re-enter the workforce, divorce, phase of life issues such as retirement and illness, and women and their children living in domestic violence shelters. In search of something new, I became a supervisor for an ABA therapy program and developed treatment plans and support for staff working with children with developmental disorders and their parents. In addition to private practice, I also volunteer with Ten Books a Home in East Palo Alto as a role model to teach preschool age children to love to learn.
Some of the therapy models I offer besides traditional Psychotherapy are Cognitive Behavioral Therapy, Trauma Focused Cognitive Behavioral Therapy, EMDR, Emotional Resolution, and Motivational Interviewing.
I've partnered with Journey Clinical to provide Ketamine-assisted Psychotherapy to help people with treatment resistant depression, trauma, and anxiety. I'm excited to being providing this service in July 2022.
